Abstract Painting Review Presentations

• Choose a recent art review on an abstract painting show.

 (Suggested resources: New York Times “Art in Review” section or “Weekend Arts”; Time Out New York, Art in America, Art Forum, Modern Painters, Bomb Magazine (or Bomblog), Brooklyn Rail, New York Magazine (Jerry Saltz) Boston Globe or Boston Phoenix)

• The review must make references to related artists and/or historical movements.

•  Compile notes from the review AND any historical/contemporary topics discussed in relation to the exhibition. 

• Prepare a 10-minute slide presentation with work samples of the reviewed artist(s) as well as other artists mentioned in the review. 

•  Bring presentation to class on a FLASH DRIVE or DISC
